We're closing in on the Kindle, e-download format, and paperback release date! Just about everything is ready to go with the exception of the cover. We're trying to determine if we can use the original cover for the paperback...need to make sure the rights were released to us. Personally, I'd like a new photo for the paperback, but that would take more time and we 're hoping to release within a week. I can't wait!
Once the new release is taken care of, so much more will follow. Thank you all for your patience!

That's great news, Marti! Thank you. Keep us informed, please.
ReplyDeleteI am excited also Marti and can hardly wait to see the updates! Best of Luck!
ReplyDeleteI love the photograph on the cover. She was so stunningly beautiful. It would be nice if you had time to find a new photograph that really showcases that beauty. I think even people who don't know who she is, would be drawn to the cover and look it over.
ReplyDeleteI like the cover but there are so many great pics out there. I guess copyright is an issue that has to be dealt with. How about one of the pictures from Dennis private collection? I love the picture of Natalie doing needlepoint.
ReplyDeleteAll of Natalie's photos are beautiful. I'm not sure about the needlepoint one though. It seems like a cover needs the full force of her glamour. Good idea if Dennis actually has some great shots, but he knew the domestic Natalie. It's the star Natalie that attracts the most attention.
ReplyDeleteI love the cover photo from GNGs. Her best pictures are from her later years (age 28 to her death at 43). I am not a fan of those teenage glamour shots that we see everywhere, like the one Finstad chose for the cover of the Natasha book.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Marti would even consider on of those teen glamour shots. I agree on that.
ReplyDeletePerhaps photos of her in her later years would be best, they might be more recognizable to a greater number of people....
ReplyDeleteI'll let you know ASAP what we'll be going with. Right now, I'm searching for photos with granted rights attached and there are so many beautiful ones to choose from. I love her style and beauty through every era. She always stayed modern, current and trendy. What a remarkable face!
ReplyDeleteNatalie's best pictures (in my opinion) are all from a couple photo sessions that were taken in some field or garden, in the late 60s or early 70s. She has her hair long and straight and is wearing hoop earrings in them.
ReplyDeleteAcephotos.org has thousands of pictures of her, if you search for a few minutes you should find those particular shots of Natalie at her most gorgeous. One of them appears here on Marti's page.
But there are still copyright issues. You can't just take a picture and put it on the cover of a book. The shoot you are referring to is the same as the one that is on the hardcopy cover.
