I hope to generate interest in the truth of what really happened the night Natalie Wood went "missing" with tonight's interview. That's what Goodbye Natalie Goodbye Splendour is all about: debunking the misinformation and lies that have surrounded this 30 year-old mystery case. Some people still create their own theories, based on factless information, but what is most important and special about GNGS is that it is based on the account of someone who was there: Dennis Davern.
Dennis is not only the person who spent Natalie's last full night with her, as friend and confidant, he is also the only person who witnessed what transpired in the minutes prior to Natalie's "disappearance" -- he has passed a polygraph test, administered by a credible, certified expert in the field, and I have done all I can to substantiate Dennis's account by talking with other witnesses never interviewed by the LA County Sheriff's Dept.
I hope to help convince new listeners that the Wood case was not properly investigated, and I hope to convey how truly missed Natalie is by her family, friends, and fans. The industry lost one of its best on that terrible night in 1981.
If you can't listen tonight, the interview will be available at Swoop's World website, and I hope to post it at my blog. This is the link to the actual episode. This is where you can go online to listen live as well as after the show is archived. http://ht.ly/3Vljs

I spoke with Swoop last night, and I really like him. He's conscientious and I believe he cares about the injustice Natalie's case has endured.

Break a leg, Marti. Can't wait to hear the interview. It was a horrible investigation. I hope people from the LACSD hears it.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Marti! You always do well in interviews. You come across as being very articulate and very confident. We'll be listening!
ReplyDeleteThank you to both! Actually, I am confident in the truth Dennis has offered all of us. I am confident that Natalie's investgation was totally botched. I am confident that Wagner is a liar. But most of all I am humbled and honored to be someone representing Natalie as we all do by believing she deserves her voice. I NEVER hang my head in embarrassment or confusion over this tragedy. It is a travesty of justice I am proud to show or tell to anyone who cares about the injustice bestowed upon someone as prominent and wonderful as Natalie Wood was and will remain. We all do what we can, and I appreciate the way we all feel justified and GOOD about what we do. Natalie deserves US!!
ReplyDeleteShe doesn't deserve the authorities who've ignored the clear and indisputable evidence. She doesn't deserve the widower husband who is responsible and has betrayed her memory. She doesn't deserve that her actual friends and many family members ignore the injustice, and she doesn't deserve to be known as the actress who got drunk and "accidentally" fell off a boat. No, she deserves SO MUCH MORE than that. She deserves US, and more people like us, and I hope that's what we can ultimately obtain for Natalie. Any person who died under the circumstances Natalie endured deserves a thorough. professional investigation, and she was not only robbed of that after being robbed of her chance to live a full life, she was robbed of truth and justice.
OMG Marti you again brought tear's to my eyes again, I will be right there listening to you tonight. I have posted the link on facebook over and over again. Good luck and God Bless. Thank you. Pam
ReplyDeleteI know you must beware of what you say Marti but please don't give Rasure a pass tonight. He's one of the main reasons Natalie didn't receive her due justice. He was negligent!! He didn't do his job.
ReplyDeleteAwesome job Marti on the show, enjoyed listening to you. Thanks, Pam
ReplyDeletePam, I left my glass of water out of reach and my tongue kept sticking to top of my mouth, and I admit, I was nervous, and the hour went SO FAST, but as I said to Swoop, we only touched upon a few of the aspects of the many layers to this story, but we really covered the most important: Wagner was with Natalie when she went missing. Thank you for saying "awesome" -- it's so difficult to stay calm in such a tense situation. It's such a tragic story.
ReplyDeleteNo, Marti, it was great: it did go fast but some parts seemed lengthy, but important. I can't imagine being able to talk about all you talked about. You did great, it was interesting listening to all over again. I hope to God this helps get the case reopened. lm
ReplyDeleteI emailed you Marti but want to say that I could tell how upset you are over the fact the authorities ignore you and Dennis. We all have faith that you will accomplish getting the case reopened. You sounded so genuine about it being your purpose and mission. Anyone listening would want it after hearing what you had to say. You were awesome. cdh
ReplyDeleteLOL Marti, you would never have know you where nervous, you sounded great. I had my rootbeer and popcorn and was glued in my seat with my eyes on the computer. It's sad to hear it spoken by you, but it shows the love you feel for what you have done and are doing. Thanks for doing all of this. Pam
ReplyDeleteGood job, Marti...you sounded great!
ReplyDeleteYou hit all of the major points...you even got in Natalie's socks.
Marti, very good interview. I'd love to SEE you give an interview.
ReplyDeleteHe did not rush you, he gave you time to say what you wanted to say. Your words came out very naturally. You were fair. Your description of how Dennis wrestled with his loyalties was very sincere. I'm pleased that it was made clear that Dennis did not wait 30 years to tell his story. He told it long ago but no one wanted to hear it.
I'm sorry I missed this live, but I'll listen to it today.
ReplyDeleteKB
The interview was wonderful! Just remember we are all behind you and Dennis and one day this case WILL be reopened. We've all just got to keep this case ALIVE. I'm being very pro-active on my blog, web site, FB and the TWITTER about keeping this in the for front. DON'T EVER GIVE UP Marti...NO matter how HOT the fire gets!
ReplyDeleteMarti-
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for appearing on Swoop's World last night. I truly appreciate you allowing us the opportunity in helping you get this story out. Your commitment to this case in assuring the truth be told and heard is admirable. I look forward to the day this investigation is reopened and Natalie's death is properly investigated.
The person known as Richard and Halrego and Jocko is all over the internet accusing you of lies against Robert Wagner.
ReplyDeleteNo one cares what Richard-Halrego-Jocko has to say. He's a compulsive liar. A deeply disturbed person.
ReplyDeleteI just listened to the interview. You did a great job especially considering the wealth of material you had to deal with. I would think your mind would want to go in many directions trying to get everything in before the end of the interview. You did extremely well sticking to a straight narrative that included the facts but also highlighted aspects that make the case so compelling. It was a satisfying taste of a case layered with injustice and falsehoods. I hope Swoop's listeners sign the petition.
ReplyDeleteExcellent job! Another key step taken on the road to justice.
ReplyDeleteThanks to all for your comments, and thank you to Swoop for the opportunity to talk about Natalie's case. I'm working on the material that will accompnay the petition to be turned in soon. I will keep you posted.
ReplyDeleteIn this convoluted story, there is the basic fact: a husband became jealous, argued with his wife, and did nothing to rescue her, and refused to allow others to help rescue her, and made a choice to wait it out in a situation she could NOT survive. That's grounds for a thorough look into this case, something the officials never gave it. It's time!
Also, as someone already posted: I am not concerned about a certain individual who uses the Internet to spread vicious lies, name-calling, and fabricated details about my intentions or this case. These kind of "Internet People" pollute our cyber world, and even though some people are annoying please know that unsubstantiated Internet ramblings have no bearing on what's really being done and serves no other purpose in this case but a waste of time. I won't waste my valuable time on these people, but feel it's necessary to let all of you know there's a lot going on in the background and how close we are to having reults.
ReplyDeleteAs far back as 2008 when there were leaks about GNGS, one of these "Internet people" emailed me, pretending to be Richard Gregson's secretary (spelled the secretary's name differently in separate emails!) Sound familiar? I saved the emails and did some cross-referencing last month.
This isn't a contest about who knows the most about Natalie's career or personal life. It is NOT a personal attack on her husband. It's a DEATH CASE that was closed prematurely, with plenty of evidence to support that fact.
There are ways to be taken seriously on the Internet, as well as ways to lose all credibility. I've established such a foundation for this case that being called a juvenile name by a meek, weak Internet voice has no bearing on what will come of Natalie's case. As always, I want to stick to facts here, build a united force that cares about the truth in Natalie's death case, and hope for true justice to soon prevail, even 30 years down the road.
It's been a long, long journey, and the ramblings of a few people who know so little about the truth that they can only be satisfied to distort it, will have no bearing on the results we will obtain. For those few who think this is a sideshow, let them think it. Actions speak louder than words and our actions will bring results.
You are so level-headed, Marti. I admit I get mad sometimes when I see the BS everywhere, and I sometimes answer, and I see it only gets worse when we give these people the time of day. They are either blinded by celebrity or they are jealous of all you've accomplished.
ReplyDeleteThey have dinky minds and no grasp on reality. They are caught up in celebrity. Hart-to-Hart was a fantasy TV show, not what Mr. Wagner is in real life. In real life, he let his wife die. Would he have let "Jennifer" drown and told the Sheriff he thought she might be out screwing around?
ReplyDeleteIt is true that a good percentage of people like their favorite actors based on characters they've played. That's quite understandable. I once like OJ Simpson based on his football talent, too. But you (Anon 9:59) are exactly correct: this is not a movie. The grave mistake made at Natalie's death scene was that the authorities treated it as a celebrity scene. Jonathan Hart would NEVER have left Jennifer in a dire situation, therefore, in authorities minds, nor would Robert Wagner.
ReplyDeleteBut Natalie really ended up bruised and drowned. There really was tension, not only witnessed by Dennis. There really was a bottle smashing, as Wagner himself has told us. There really were two young daughters left to survive without their mother, and there really was a terrible marital fight in the master stateroom, which makes perfect sense after something as bizarre as the bottle smashing. Natalie was ANGRY, with every right to be angry after her husband humiliated her. There really exists a botched investigation. All cruise survivors should have been interrogated. Bottomline: this terrible tragedy is ALL TOO REAL!
Marti, you have said it so right again. This is so real it did happen, it's NOT a movie. Everyone back then let Wagner walk away and get away with want he did and HE DID DO IT. But now his time is coming and its' all because of You and Dennis writing down what happen, Thank God you did.
ReplyDeletePam
Jay Leno had Mark Harmon of CSI on The Tonight Show tonight and seemed to make Mark uncomfortable when Leno brought up Robert Wagner. Leno is a jerk. Right after your book came out Marti, Leno had Wagner on, in some skit which I thought was a blatant favor to Wagner. The bastard wouldn't go on and talk straight up! Leno didn't need to bring up Wagner tonight. Leno is actually a chavanistic man with a low IQ. He never reads. We all know what he did to Conan. Maybe he should read your book or listen to the audio before saying what a nice guy Wagner is. I wouldn't doubt he heard about your interview and is covering again for the bastard. I wrote to NBC to say I next expect to hear how wonderful OJ Simpson is from Leno. It's pathetic. Here's the website I used to send a message. If people really want to help you Marti they should take the time to also say something. These are the little things that can't keep happening. I might even make a phone call Monday. Sorry but I'm getting more and more sick over that bastard getting a pass. Let NBC know!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.nbc.com/contact/general/?__status=1
I saw it too. A man with no scruples will most likely help out another man with no scruples, especially in Hollywood. I've been Team Coco all the way, now officially despise Leno. Wagner isn't a part of CSI. He had a guest stint. Leno had no reason to bring him up. Harmon said Wagner won't be back this year. Leno is obviously team Waggy. Sickening.
ReplyDeleteThe Jay Leno crap is trifling. Really, who gives a damn who Jay Leno likes.
ReplyDeleteLeno is a homophobe. He apparently does not know that Wagner is a tightly closeted gay man who uses his "marriages" as his beard.
ReplyDeleteLeno, Harmon and Wagner are all Republicans. Those arrogant worms stick together like flies on horse s**t!
ReplyDeleteBefore anyone tells me that RJ is a Democrat, he is not. He was. Not anymore and don't forget Heston was a Democrat too before he raised a gun in his "cold dead hands".
Politics and related issues won't matter to the authortities, and they won't care who likes who if they decide to SERIOUSLY look at the facts in relation to Natalie's death.
ReplyDeleteI did not see Leno last night, but I did watch Dateline. Anyone see it? Amazing story about break-ins, perversions, rape, and murder in a few neighboring small towns in Canada. Finally, all the police had to go by were tire tracks and footprints. One of the SUV's the police stopped in a road block was driven by one of the country's most revered military generals, and a negligent police force might've let him pass on through, but instead they put a tail on the general. The general was the one who had been chosen to pilot the Queen of England!
Turns out, the general confessed after a four hour interrogation to being the culprit who had broken into homes and stolen thousands of women's personal belongings, photographed himself in the apparel, photographed a few women after blind-folding them, raped, and murdered two women. The country was shocked! My point is that it was observant police in the case who thought more about their victims than in the celebrity of their prime suspect. (on a tire track alone!) All the physical evidence was gathered after the confession.
Many celebs will stick together. As for Leno, he's who showed us the Dancing Ito judges, and I remember Letterman saying he finds nothing funny about double-murder, but eventually Letterman joked about the Simpson case, too. Wagner knows how to charm people, but hopefully one day, charming intelligent, informed people will not work. Hopefully, one day, Natalie's case will matter with the authoritites.
When Wagner interviewed with Diane Sawyer after his book was released, she was smitten and mentioned how thrilled she was to actually be talking with the "legendary Robert Wagner." But, she apparently doesn't know the facts. Maybe it will change if and when the media ever does learn the facts and takes them seriously.
Leno has joked about Simpson, Blake, Lohan and Sheen and many more. He loves to embarrass celebrities. I've never heard him joke about Wagner. Obviously, he went out of his way last night to give a plug for Wagner. He and Harmon joked about their cute little phone texts they get from Wagner. Wagner knows exactly who he can fool. As always it's his image he is concerned with. NBC won't care, but don't let that deter you from caring Marti. Wagner's had many long years to charm. You were held back but you've made tremendous progress. We all have faith in you.
ReplyDeleteI always thought Leno was a Democrat. It doesn't matter. He's another who thinks only of himself. It was time for him to leave IMO. He's old school.
ReplyDeleteLeno is a Republican. Where have you been? He supported both Bush's and McCain and Palin. Mark Harmon is a major hypocrite. Leno is sleaze and Wagner is the bacteria that grows on dog crap which turns it white. Justt calling it as I see it.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Leno was a Rep. I'm not into politics. Whatever he is, he doesn't know how to interview people. He swooned all over Jusin Beiber, starstruck by him. It was rather sickening to watch. I'd like to know his purpose in thinking he had to mention a guest spot actor last night. There was no need to bring up Wagner. Leno's out there protecting Wagner. That is horribly sickening. These little subliminal displays matter.
ReplyDeleteYou're right. Any mention of Wagner in a positive way on the public stage cements in people's mind his image as a good guy. I didn't watch Leno but it does seem puzzling he chose to bring Wagner up. Let's wait until November 2011 and then we'll see how many people are singing Wagner's praises or taking his texts.
ReplyDeleteWhat 81 year old man sends cutesy texts to other man? LOL, that would be odd for a man at any age but at 81? Makes ya wonder!
ReplyDeleteAs Marti pointed out, Wagner is a charmer. All charmers are "nice guys".
I recall seeing Mike Myers on a talk show once, forget which one. He was telling a little anecdote about how Wagner would phone him at impromptu moments to say he's about to board a boat with someone regal, or to say 'I luv ya man' - silly things like that. Wagner did not stay away from boats after Natalie died. He is a piece of human waste IMO, a charmer behind the most evil eyes I've ever seen. That is how I feel about the man. That is what he is to me. He is responsible for Natalie's death. Nothing more to it.
ReplyDeleteHe's an old man still worried about something that will never matter at the end of the day: his stinking image. BTW, your interview was great, Marti. I finally had the chance to listen.
ReplyDeleteLDP
He's a charmer and not stupid. His networking and keeping in touch with people who are still relevant in the industry goes a long way in making sure his name comes up in a positive context.
ReplyDeleteI've seen pictures of him on boats. He has a row boat that he uses for fishing with Jill. He accepts invitations from others to their boats but I don't think he ever went back to Catalina.
ReplyDeleteWagner has always been a name dropper. His book was an example of that.
Also, he has always kissed the butt of Hollywood.
What people do not realize is that the name Robert Wagner was never big news. After the divorce from Natalie, no one gave a damn what he did and who he did it with. The biggest press Wagner ever received was with Natalie's death. After she died all eyes were on him, not because he was a big star but because he was Natalie Wood's widower. If he married Sue Smith and she died and he began seeing Jill, no one would have given a damn. It's not his life that the press cared about, it was Natalie's life and her death. Her death put him on the map with the media and kept him there.
He's a despicable man.
