Goodbye Natalie Goodbye Splendour is the poignant story of a young, cavalier adventurer, Dennis Davern, who landed the position of Splendour Captain and how the Wagner family welcomed him into their hearts and home. Natalie’s death in 1981 sent shock waves throughout the world and remained an enduring mystery. Dennis reached out to me, his friend, and my mission to substantiate Dennis's account led me on a personal quest for truth that spanned decades. Many of the lingering questions are solved.
It's so sad that he last hours were spent alone while suffering mental and physical anguish, all while her husband drank to wait long enough for her to die.
ReplyDeleteher last hours (sorry)
ReplyDeleteI think it's where people don't want their minds to go. It's very hard to think about drifitng at sea in the dark. First she probably feared what lurked beneath her feet in the dark water, then it turned to sheer fear of what lie ahead when she realized nobody was about to help her. The cruelty involved in her death is unbearable to think about.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. After all Natalie had been through in her life, to know she experienced such a horrible way to die is devastating to think about.

I love this video and I can't stop thinking about Natalie. I think her death bothers us more than average because there is really no closure, although one never forgets tragedy, or the injustice against her. Nothing but lies and misinformation has been fed to us.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard this song. What is it?
ReplyDeleteBack to correct something: Marti, I didn't mean GNGS has fed us lies and misinformation. Only you and Dennis have told the truth. We never would have known if not for you. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I should've posted information about the song. Song is titled "Unbound" by Robbie Robertson, appropriately used here because it's featured on a CD/album titled "CSI" about Crime Investigation. Robertson also worked with Bob Dylan, who Natalie really admired. It's simply the perfect song for a video about Natalie and her fate.
ReplyDeleteAnother awesome video, Thanks for sharing.
