The petition and six statements have been prepared and sent to to the L.A. County Sheriff. The petition has gathered signatures from American citizens as well as from caring people around the world. The petition is accompanied by comprehensive statements from myself, Dennis Davern, Lana Wood, Marilyn Wayne, Roger Smith and a certified, licensed psychologist, and along with caring media attention, our request for the reopening of Natalie's case may finally have impact. 4. When asked if she believes her sister’s death was intentional or planned, Lana Wood defiantly stated, “It was strictly emotional is what I wish to believe and always have.”

Can anyone explain just what on Earth L.W. is saying with this statement?

  5. Nevermind, I read it wrong-I see what she's saying.

  6. Thanks, Everyone, and I thank all of you for your support in trying to make this happen. Signing the petition meant so much. I thank Vincent for his professional touch and support, and all who signed statements to accompany the petition. If the Sheriff denies Natalie this official request for an investigation it will be the biggest slight I could ever imagine.

This article is the beginning of a series and writer Tommy Garrett will follow-up with the department for comments.
Others will get involved. Up until the anniversary of Natalie's death, we will not let up. It's time...long overdue!

As for "what Lana meant" - I'm glad you understand it. She remains fair, yet is still emotional to this day over the loss she suffered. I had nothing to do with Tommy Garrett's interview with Lana, and saw her responses along with all other readers. She apparently believes nothing was "planned" to happen the way it happened that night, but rather that emotions went way out of control. Regardless, it's time for the authorities to get to the truth...to accept the truth.

We can only hope the sheriff takes this entire effort seriously.

  7. All my prayers are for the truth and justice, I believe what Lana believes, emotions ( Wagners ) got out of control, but that does not give him a free pass. Before he disregarded Natalie into that dark water that she feared he had to have been physicality hurting her. Justice is waiting. Thanks Marti. Pam

  8. HERE WE GO...now if the LA Sheriff's Department "bungles" it yet, again, then I simply will have no hope or faith in our justice system. Many blessed thanks to you Marti and Dennis, for continuing this quest and for bringing it to the public's attention. My prayers are being lifted for your continued strength and resolve!

  9. I'm so happy that things seem to be underway which will hopefully have this case re-opened - it has been swept under the rug way too long. I'm not surprised that Wagner is ignoring the calls from the press about it but I can't help but wonder if he has any apprehension about the amount of people who have been fighting to reopen in the investigation. I want justice for Natalie and closure for her family - all the work that you and Dennis have done to bring the truth to light is what made the majority of this possible, Marti. I'm glad that so many others want the truth to be revealed. Hope all goes well and we can finally all say, "We did it! We got justice for Natalie!" And hopefully, somehow, somewhere, she will know it and she will be at peace after all these years.

  10. Even if they did not go any further, it would mean so much to me if the authorities would at least review all of the facts and officially recognize the inconsistencies in the ridiculous theories of what happened to Natalie. But I am still hoping beyond hope for true justice and for her dignity to be returned to her memory.

  11. I agree, Vince. I would like the recognition of the inconsistencies to be made public...that would give Natalie some degree of justice.

  13. Just curious, but how did you get Tommy 'LightFoot" Garrett to get on board with GNGS when he pretty much trashed it on his Amazon 3 star review? Did he finally, actually, read the book?

  14. Marti - I'm on page 276 of your book and I say: wonder where Dennis is now? I Google Dennis and I discovered this Blog. I am so happy and just signed the petition and posted 2 things on my Blog....which is my Autobiography.

I am the Author of An Inch From Murder and my Blog is at http://www.aninchfrommurder.com/blog/

Marti - I'm almost finished. I admire you so much and feel that I have just read your Autobiography too. Thank You for the struggle.

  15. Thanks, again, Everyone. I am so looking forward to how (and when) the authorities will respond to the petition as well as the very detailed statements that were submitted. They are going to see media following up...some determined media, so that should help in this quest for justice for Natalie.

As Vincent says, even if they only agree to review the evidence, it will mean they at least gave the request consideration. But, with everything said in the statements, I can't see how they wouldn't want to re-label Natalie's case from closed to a cold case, at least until they attempt to get answers on their own. It was THEIR job to do a lot that was done for GNGS. They never gave Natalie a chance for justice.

As for Tommy Garrett, I'd hardly say his Amazon review was a "trashing" -- Tommy is a well-known Hollywood name...and he knows the territory. Natalie's death always bothered him. He already knew a lot of the details presented in GNGS, and perhaps he figured everyone else knew what he already knew. Therefore, what was included in GNGS may not have been new to him and he said so. I thanked him for his honest review of the book. He gave it 3 stars, and was still genuinely curious about what we "couldn't say." Tommy has since, indeed, learned more, and I'm thrilled to have him on this journey for justice for Natalie. He's a fair person, a conscientious journalist, and he knows there's more to Natalie's death than was ever revealed from the authorities.

Mostly everything Tommy said in his review is positive, and by saying he believes there's more was a very keen observation. Our original editor cut a lot of info from GNGS, hoping to avoid a lawsuit. The bulk of the truth is there, and it's not hard to read between the lines. LIke Tommy, I wish I could've filled-in between the lines a little more, but I was content that GNGS was published, so that people who've always wondered needn't wonder any longer. It was a sinister night back on Nov. 28, 1981.

Cornelius, thank you for visiting my blog. I am going to look at yours right now. I look forward to hearing from you when you finish GNGS. Thank you for reading it. I hope you will post an honest review at Amazon as well.

  16. One other thing I'd like to say about Tommy Garrett...many journalists read GNGS, and most weren't brave enough to go on record, or to write anything about it. Tommy was, and for that, I'm grateful.

I have no clue why the greater media walks Wagner on a long leash. Maybe it's because the authorities never put a leash on him at all. Hopefully, the LACSD will own up to their responsibility and that will change.

  17. It's my feeling that GNGS is a book that needs to be read more that once to absorb the entire scenario. I fully understand why Tommy Garrett may have needed to read the book a second time. Thankfully, there are people out there like Tommy Garret who care enough to keep an open mind and take a second look. Hopefully he will assist in giving Natalie a voice and some long over do justice.

  18. Outstanding news--I hope these efforts at the VERY least bring an acknowledgement that many facts were overlooked. The public should be made aware that Natalie's death was NOT accidental. At the very least, that ruling would give some justice to her.
