"Inside Daisy Clover" Inspired Design by JULIE ANN SMITH DESIGNS

JULIE ANN SMITH DESIGNS

I always get lots of emails from readers when they've finished "Goodbye Natalie" and I just read two interesting ones. One was from Courtney who wants to do all she can to help spread the word about the injustice the Natalie case has endured.

Another came from Julie Ann who feels the same way and has designed a piece of jewlery in memory of Natalie Wood. (Pictured above). Julie Ann has a blog I just started following. She wrote a wonderful tribute to Natalie in her Friday, January 28th post if you'd like to read it. (blog link above)

I thank all readers of GNGS who come away caring about Natalie Wood and the unfairness that her case was closed without a proper investigation. More and more people are becoming aware of the injustice and I am so confident something will be done to expedite the reopening of Natalie's case this year.

Julie Ann had accepted the "accident" fed to us throughout the years. She does not any longer! Her husband always suspected more and now he is convinced justice was not served for Natalie Wood. They are both angry and both have signed the petition.

Reopen Investigation of Natalie Wood's death Petition

Julie, you sent your heartfelt THANKS to me, and I openly return MY heartfelt thanks to you. Your creation for Natalie via "Inside Daisy Clover" is beautiful! My best to you and your family. THANK YOU to you and to Courtney and to all friends and readers who help to enlighten others about Natalie Wood's case and travesty of justice. Let's all continue to do what we can to keep the wonderful life and career and memory of Natalie Wood alive, and to justify her negligent case investigation. I work on it every single day!

  1. This is another fine example of how well liked and adored Natalie was. What a beautiful piece of beaded jewlery inspired by our Natalie!

  2. Marti,
I've signed the petition and got several of my friends and family members to sign too. Is there anything else we can do to help? I'm willing to put myself out there, as you do, for this travesty of justice. I would make calls, do anything, but I'm not sure who to call. I can't stand it, I can barely stand it that Natalie goes ignored because it's been so long. Is that why? Whem will the police believe Dennis? He has done all he can to prove himself. What is it, Marti? Why do the important people ignore Natalie who deserves justice more than anyone I can think of! She was so special!!! Thank you for all you do. I can't wait for the day I see your post THE CASE IS BEING RE-OPENED!

  3. I don't think it has anything to do with the police believing Dennis or not believing Dennis. Dennis is not the person whose credibility needs to be examined. It's Robert Wagner who needs to be re-questioned about the lies he told about that night and about the decisions he made in relation to searching for Natalie. Also, it was the shabby investigation that needs to be re-examined. What Dennis has to say in very important but it goes beyond him. If you take all of what he has said and put it aside, Robert Wagner actions were that of a guilty man as were his words to the police. I'm sure the LACSD is embarrassed by this investigation.

  4. Very beautiful it looks like something you would see Natalie wear, and is that not her favorite color?? That is so spacial when someone does something like this. I will read Julie blog.

Marti your email from Courtney, I pray it is from Natalie's Daughter?

To Anoy.1:50pm I'm with you on your statement. but you know what will be the nice thing is when Natalie get's Justice and Wagner is behind barr's and that will happen. Manslaughter is 15 to life.

    ReplyDelete
  5. A better question would be why do the police still believe Robert Wagner, how could ANYONE believe him considering all the lies he has told~~~~

Good luck, Marti! Make this Natalie's year!~~~~

  6. Is Courtney the person XS3, oh9,ineedwater from imdb?

  7. Marti you snowed in. Temp's is 40 here, cold for Vegas. Wrote Nancy Grace and Bill Orilly, I don't think the Lady's on the view would take on something of this, they don't have the power behind them, maybe Barbara but if she hasn't yet then I can't even see her stepping up. It's a shame all these high powerful new reporter don't. My God he is just small potatoes, he isn't even it the same class as are older Hollywood star's are, look at Ernest Borgnine now he is a Star. I watched him as a kid too. I loved that movie with him and Batte Davis Bunny O'Hare and I watched McHale Navy. Thanks. Pam

  8. That would be my guess.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Borgnine made a slam about Natalie in his book.
Walters would never take on this. She likes Wagner. If only she knew what he said about her in private after Natalie died.
Bill O'Reilly would never take this on because he is political plus Natalie Wood was a Democrat and O'Reilly is a bigot Republican like Wagner.
Bunny O'Hare was an awful Bette Davis movie.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Walters is too celebrity conscious. I don't feel that she has the power she once did. Time took a toll on her power as did The View.
Nancy Grace is a good way to go. Let us know if you hear from her.
I doubt that O'Reilly will care but if he does contact you, let us know.
Politically, Wagner was a Democrat until the Reagan years. He was,as my die hard Democrat grandmother would have called him, a turncoat.

Many people may not be aware of this but Natalie worked very hard for the Democratic party, campaigned, made phone calls in support of Democratic candidates, make financial contributions.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Anony 7:45pm Do tell on what slam that would be? And that doesn't change that he is a classic actor from the older days. And I'm sorry you feel that way about any Bette Davis movie.
Why don't you tell me who you think I should email.

    Anony: 9:16pm Thank you.
    Thanks all. Pam

    ReplyDelete
  12. Sorry but anyone that slams Natalie Wood is less than nothing in my book. Borgnine is classic because he is about 150 years old. It seems when an actor reaches a certain age they give him all these accolades and legendary status. Borgnine carried on film which he won the Oscar for. The rest of his career, much like Wagner's was spent in support or ensemble casts. I know my movies and my actors.
The Bette Davis movie you speak of is awful. The reviews were horrendous and the public hated it. She was a great actress but she had clunkers just like they all did.
You can email anyone you choose but unsolicited mail will never reach them. It goes through assistant's assistants who filter through it.

This blog is NOT about slamming, other then maybe Wagner and I don't care for your tone, I understand this is what you think, but please have your facts straight. This will be all I have to say on this. Thanks all.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I didn't read Borgnine's book, so I don't know what the slam was or I'd tell you Pam. I always liked him as an actor, especially in "Marty" which I didn't see until the 80's when I still spelled my name with a "y" at the end.

Borgnine is surely a better actor than Wagner, even though I do agree that so many actors these days are called "legendary" based more on their years in the business than on their talents. It's a common adjective the media likes to throw around.

As for sending emails and asking for attention to Natalie's case, please believe me, ANYTHING and EVERYTHING helps, and I appreciate even the slightest effort anyone can give. Pam, you got so many people to sign the petition and that's ultra helpful.

Nancy Grace's producer already did that article last March about getting the case reopened, but that was at the same time our original publisher let us know they were closing. When we get closer to submitting the petition, Nancy Grace will probably pick up on the story again.

Barbara Walters will not take on this story. She's too soft these days. The media needs what's considered "news" -- when we officially ask for the case to be reopened, the media will be more likely to follow. We have some people working behind the scenes, everything must be in order, so it takes time. In the meantime, to keep the topic of this travesty of justice open and current DOES help, so thank you to all who give it effort. It's so appreciated. I'll be doing an interview next week I'll let you know about soon.

Remember, we're all on the same side. We want the same thing.

  16. Hi Marti, I see you must be doing ok with your weather, I hope you are staying warm. Thanks for the heads up on your up coming interview, I can't wait. You know I'm on 110%, I would have like to seen that Nancy Grace show, maybe I can find it on the internet. I'm still very sick, going back to the doc tomorrow morning, but I'm going to call our friend to see what's up(you know). Talk later and Thank you so very much. Your awesome. Pam

    ReplyDelete
  17. aussie I was not referring to you slamming Natalie. I was referring to Borgnine getting a dig in about her.
And that is all I am going to say on the subject.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Borgnine's dig, what did he say?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Lots of people have said things in the past about Natalie and her case because they were fed the lies about what heppened. What a shame!

Pam, I emailed you, and I hope you are feeling better. I will announce the interview information soon, just have to check in to lock in time and date, coming soon.

  20. Marti,
You know who always seem genuinely sad and moved by Natalie's tragedy? Elliot Gould. He has always appeared concerned and disbelieving of the details around her death when talking about her. I wish one celebrity would come out for justice for Natalie. One would be all that's needed to spark the others.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Many people have been sad and moved by Natalie's death but few have spoken out and those who have were ridiculed by Wagner's fans.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yes, wouldn't it be nice if the first celeb to speak up would be Christopher Walken? (I know that would probably never happen...but ...it would be the decent thing to do.)

Walken knows how deranged that bottle smashing episode actually was. All he need do is admit Natalie was in the room when it happened and that he was frightened. That would prove another lie of Wagner's, because in his book, Wagner says Natalie wasn't in the room. If the authorities asked Walken, I'm sure Walken would tell them Natalie WAS in the room. But, where are the authorities?

    ReplyDelete
  23. This is interesting. Who's lying about the bottle breaking? Was Natalie in the room when it happened? Wagner says no. Dennis says yes. Walken is the tie breaker, but would he lie like Wagner has? I have no doubt Wagner is the liar, but if put to answer, what would Walken do? Dennis passed a polygraph test about it. That says all I need to know. It's such an easy part to investigate that would tell the police volumes. Why not ask such a simple question?

    ReplyDelete
  24. but in Lambert's book, Wagner did not say that she was not there. His version in that book was that Natalie, Walken and Dennis were sitting there when he smashed a glass bottle on the table in front of them. There are a few differences in what he told Lambert and what he claimed in his book. The man is a liar, plain and simple.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Reopening the Wood case would involve having to ask Wagner and Walken many questions. They would lawyer-up. That would show the authorities that they do not want to cooperate. It would become difficult, but it would stir the interest in the case with the media and maybe we would get some official answers, or at least some responses and/or reactions that clears up what a liar Wagner actually is, opening the doors to give Natalie's true experience the attention it deserves. GNGS deserves more attention, and not for the sake of book sales (easy cop-out for those who don't want to open a can of worms and do something about a travesty of justice), but for the sake of this tragedy's TRUTH!

    ReplyDelete
  26. He had not invented that fable about seeing Natalie in front of the mirror, getting ready for bed when Lambert's book was written. That story is total BS like most of what Wagner has said over the years. I would take Dennis Davern's word over Robert Wagner's any time.
He also left out pouring the booze after the radio call. How would that have sounded in his book while trying to appear to have been so concerned about his "missing" wife? Again, he is all about how it looks and a pathetic liar.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Marti, I'm glad you said it. There's nothing wrong with you wanting your book to sell and receive attention. You've got the case ready to hand over to the detectives all wrapped-up in your book. It is the defining truth, the sensible explanation, the expose of Natalie's tragic death. It's a brilliant volume of work, the work you did that the LACSD refused to do. That's right, they were shorthanded. It's ok for Natalie to die in vain. They were shorthanded. Think about that statement as the excuse Rasure gave you. They were SHORTHANDED. I'm so angry now I can barely sit. I hope your book eventually sells millions Marti. Not only does Natalie deserve it, but so do YOU!!!

PS: You're too easy on Rasure. I depsise him.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Wagner and Walken agreed to agree and as a result Wagner referred to Walken as a gentleman in his fable, Pieces of My Heart. In Lambert's book Wagner was very antagonistic and angry toward Walken. Why? What made the difference? That's another example of Wagner's sneaky, conniving ways.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Marti did not say that she wanted to increase book sales. Don't put words in her mouth. She said that the book deserves more attention because of what it could do for Natalie.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Perhaps Wagner was still harboring anger and jealousy for Walken in Lambert's book. He doesn't seem like the type of person to let things go when someone has "done someting to him". Look at the way he disrespects Natalie and that was almost 30 years ago he decided she was at fault. By his book, he probably felt pretty secure that the creep Walken was always going to keep his mouth shut. Someone following Wagner's agenda and his world view? Now that's a gentleman. It's all about control and perceived personal safety.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Robert Wagner announced that he was writing his auto-biography in 2005. Lambert's book was published in 2004. Somewhere in between the release of Lambert's book and the time in which Wagner wrote the chapter concerning Natalie's death, he and Walken agreed to agree. There was not a whole lotta time to between the Lambert's book and Wagner's decision to pen his auto-bio.

    ReplyDelete
  32. The public has an attention span of about 30 seconds and they want their spectacle. Someone better call this murderer a murderer if they want to raise some publicity about the case. Someone needs to commit.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Cecil,
I get what you are saying. I get it completely. For many years, there was a man, Peter Rydyn, who sent out postcards, called press conferences, and yelled from the top of the hills that Natalie was murdered. He was thought of as a quack by media, authorities, and the general public alike. He claimed to have records of Rasure's "take" -- he claimed that Wagner and Walken both killed Natalie. He was hellbent on "murder" not only on Natalie's murder, but on many other celebrity deaths. Murder was this guy's "thing" --

Dennis and I NEVER had ANYTHING to do with Peter. Once I found out Peter's mission, I stayed as far away as possible.

Even if Dennis, an eyewitness, "calls murder" we will not gain ground but lose it. Dennis's account is truthful, and he knows Wagner was with Natalie when she went into the water, so we have to leave it up to the authorities to decide HOW Natalie got into the water. They must determine first why Wagner lied about his knowledge of HOW Natalie got into the water.

Crying murder would make us look like judge and jury. That, we are not. We have an eye and ear witness account that is powerful. It's what we must stick with. Dennis's account says it all. Even those who accuse us of accusing Wagner see the account for what it's worth. They say we're calling Wagner a murderer. And we haven't. So, I think that says it all for how powerful Dennis's account actually is. Even those who don't believe him RECOGNIZE what his polygraphed account means. We're confident, through the proper procedures, the authorities will eventually see it too.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Marti,
You are so sensible about all this, but I bet it's the most frustrating thing in the world for you and Dennis. We all know what Wagner is. We believe in your way of handling this. I only hope the guy's around to see the world know we're all on to him.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ok, I very clearly see your side of that issue Marti, thanks for taking the time to share your position. I guess I'm from the school of thought that says "if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck"...

    ReplyDelete
  36. Cecil,
Believe me, I'm from that school, too. This IS extremely frustrating BECAUSE this thing DOES walk like a duck and talk like a duck. It SPEAKS for itself. The task is in getting the media and the authorities to speak for it. They will, because we are handling things through the proper channels. But, it is so frustrating how long things take. It took over 15 years to get GNGS published. It's not a book we started after the OTHER books. We were first to start, and last to be published. Go figure that one! It's proof positive along with everything else about this case that celebrity takes priority. THAT'S something we want realized, AND hopefully changed, too, as impossible as that will be.

How many people do YOU know who could destroy a hotel room, threaten to hurt a woman you are paying for sex who has to lock herself in a bathroom to call for help, and have nothing happen but a slap on the wrist? The Charlie Sheen episode in NY only increased his ratings. He got to apologize and decide for himself when to seek help. He threatened to slit his wife's throat last year in Aspen, didn't he? Slapped on the wrist. And I just learned that he once "accidentally" shot Kelly Preston. Where was I when that hit the news? Maybe buried in GNGS, seeking justice for these victims.

Celebrity criminal activity is basically acceptable in our country. There is evidence of it over and over again, even in this day and age. Thank goodness for the good ones in that industry because it's actually a very sickening thing.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Charlie Sheen must've hung out with Wagner when Wagner did his guest spots on Two And A Half Men.
    Sheen is vulgar.
Didn't Charlie tell wifey that he knew people who would cover the crime? Maybe Wagner informed him of who those people are. This is sarcasm, but as you say Marti, sickening stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  38. We mortals are so separate from la-la-land people. That's what makes your book all the more courageous Marti.

    ReplyDelete
  39. At days end it all goes back to celebrity. If Wagner's name was John Wilson, he would have been treated differently by the police. You and I would have been treated differently by the police.

You are handling this very well, Marti. what good would it do if you called Wagner a murderer? We can scream it from the rooftops but if the authorities don't want to see it, it will do you no good. My feeling is that the reason they don't see it is that they don't want to see it. How blind can they be? It all goes back to the celebrity thing and their own embarrassment over the way the case was handled. Follow your instincts.

    ReplyDelete
  40. The LACSD is filled with new people. As they don't like to question those they follow, I think they will in this case. Good luck.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Of course there are new people, LOL, but they will not speak out against other men and woman in blue, retired or not. Privately, I'm sure the case has been discussed but there will be no public criticism of the retired detectives who worked on this case especially in LA where kid glove treatment of celebrities runs rampant. They will not reach out until they are given no choice. Had GNGS been properly promoted that day may have already come. It's been an uphill battle for Marti, I give her a lot of credit for never shrugging her shoulders and saying, "Oh, well, I'm finished with this." Robert Wagner should have ever cared so much about how his wife died! And we all know why he didn't bother to ask the police to further investigate exactly how Natalie died. He knew because it was all on him.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Anony 4:41pm I think your wrong on your statement, I believe they will speak out and do the right thing, It has been a new day on how the LACSD investigates scenes fallowing the the OJ, they have all new procures they must fallow. And new Detectives are not going to cover Mr Rasure for his lack of investigation, that would not make a good detective and the people "US" would see right through it again, It's just not going to happen, I believe the LACSD will get it right this time around.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I think you misunderstand me, Pam. I am saying that there will be no public criticism of the work that Rasure and Co. did. Even if the case is re-opened. they will not publicly denounce a retired detective. They may take a closer look but no one will say that Rasure was star struck or Rasure did a crappy job. Privately, I'm sure they do ask what the hell he was thinking and why did he overlook certain details.
Celebrity kid glove treatment still exists in LA. It's very political, also. It's not a simple matter. The LAPD handled Simpson's case. They seemed a bit more hard ass than the detectives in the LACSD but celebs living in LA get away with murder, literally!
I think Marti is doing a sensational job and hopefully 2011 will be Natalie's year for justice.

    ReplyDelete
  44. In my opinion, this case needs a big public outcry to get those in charge to move on it, but the media has been so lax in bringing attention to GNGS.
There seems to be a line that the important media outlets will not cross when it comes to promoting the information in this book.
Is it because they are afraid of being sued? Do they find it not credible? Why such a wall of silence from the very people who could make a difference?

    ReplyDelete
  45. I agree the detectives may be loyal to those who handled the case. It might be easier for them to blame Dennis (rightfully so) for not coming forward immediately. But, I think when (not if) they meet Dennis, they'll immediately understand how difficult his choices were. Dennis broke free from Wagner: it wasn't the other way around. He tried to convince himself he was doing the right thing for ALL involved...but his heart broke every time he thought of Natalie. It was Dennis who made a mistake, but not the kind of mistake Wagner made.

Pam, I hope (and really have faith) that you are right. I think fresh blood will look at this case completely differently. It may be too late for a courtroom (but who knows?) but it isn't too late to bring the truth OFFICIALLY forward.

Kevin, everyone I've met in media (a lot) believes the account in GNGS.... But, it's a competitive news market and all we need is the LACSD to say they'll take another look. The media will then be diligent on this story because then they CAN...it will be "official" -- Dennis's account is believed, but still at risk for lawsuits. With the police involved, that will be different. We just need to get the story to the department.... and that we are working on, along with the petition.

We, unfiortunately signed with a publisher that closed its publishing department due to the death of its president. That was a big obstacle on this mission, but only a delay, not a halt. This will be Natalie's year.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I've said this before, and I still believe it--Wagner will get his due. Maybe not in this lifetime, but he will. He cannot be resting easily, I would imagine.

    ReplyDelete
